We Also Call Them Sunshine Heaters
Infra-Red (IR) heating works just like the sun. Stand in the sun and the IR heat warms you up. Move into the shade and you cool down. So, quite simply, IR heats things in its direct line of sight – people, pews, walls, floors etc. In the case of inanimate objects, that heat is then radiated back into the room. In comparison with traditional heating, IR has a range of advantages:
• Instant heat – unlike conventional heating which relies on air to heat and circulate, IR warms you up the moment you turn it on
• For churches that means cheaper heating – IR doesn’t need to be turned on a long time in advance of the congregation arriving.
• Our IR panels and bars are programable and can be operated from an App on your mobile device – you don’t have to arrive at church hours before the service and turn the boiler on
• Zonal heating options – you don’t need to heat your entire space or turn conventional radiators on and off. That makes everything more cost-effective and saves money
• IR is healthy – because it doesn’t heat by convection it doesn’t circulate dust, allergens or viruses.
• Low maintenance – IR heaters require no costly annual servicing. If they should ever go wrong the cost of replacing them is much less than a boiler service.
Our IR heater panels come in two standard formats. Both come in a range of sizes, delivering incremental amounts of power, from 450w up to 1,100w as they get bigger.

Our second IR panel works as a dual purpose Infra-Red / Convection Heater – ideal for smaller spaces, offices, organ lofts, corridoors and common parts, etc. The power rating here ranges from 450w to 900w, depending on size.

IR panels can be wall-mounted, free standing on feet, or ceiling mounted. They are ideal if you want to configure zonal heating throughout your buildings and can be installed by your electrician or, used on a ‘plug-and-play’ basis.

IR bars are more powerful and, depending on size, deliver between 2,000w and 3,000w and are 30% more powerful than other Infra-Red bars. Generally, they are mounted high-up on a wall (optimum height around 2.8m) and angled to beam down radiation and bathe larger spaces with warmth. Alternatively, as ‘one-offs’ they can be plug and play, although as part of an overall heating strategy we recommend they are installed by an electrician.

We also offer a ‘Ecumenical White’ version of our heater bars – called Ecumenical White as the colour is slightly ‘off-white’ to suit a broad range of church walls that may once have been white but are now slightly faded.
How much heat do you need? Leave that to our consultants.
Every church, chapel or temple is different, and the amount of heat required to service the requirements of your congregation or other users. As with everything in life these days ‘there is an algorithm for that’ and, armed with a floor plan and the height of your space our team of expert consultants will recommend the optimal configuration of panels and bars to give you either a quick tactical fix or a complete future-proofed heating strategy.
Installation
Whether your church needs panels, bars of a ‘blended solution’ we recommend you find your own local electrician to install your Infra-Red heaters. That means you have a local expert who understands your system and how it is wired. We normally supply an outline specification so you can ask electricians to quote, and have a support team who can work and advise whichever contractor you appoint.

How much electrical power will you need?
Moving from traditional heating to IR often means increasing your power and installing a three-phase supply. This is something our consultants will quickly identify and that our electrical installation team can facilitate.
